B&B Valente
The bed and breakfast Valente is composed of 2 double bedrooms and 1 extra bed and are equipped with tv. There is a single bathroom with a bathtub and a hair-dryer. The common area is the living room with a sofa, a tv and a bookcase. The breakfast is traditional or self contained. The local typical own production are olive oil, wine, ham and sausages, goat’s cheese, dried figs and honey. The restaurants are located nearby.
The B&B is located in the centre of the village. Centola is situated on a hill, 1082 feet high, 5 km from Palinuro. The village is included in the National Park of Cilento and Vallo of Diano. The Park is a meeting place with Nature and Man, with the sea and the mountains: it is the Park of excellence in the centre of the Mediterranean sea. It is one of the six Italian nature reserves included in the Unesco Mab Programme.
The whole Cilento is characterised by gently rolling hills, sometimes even rugged, with a great variety of natural environments. The symbol of the Park is the Primrose Palinuri Petagna, you can look at it at Palinuro in February and March. In the surroundings of the b&b it’s possible to visit Palinuro and Marina of Camerota (the coast and their marine grottos), San Severino of Centola (a medieval abandoned village), Camerota (the local work of earthenware), Bosco ( where the Spanish painter Ortega used to live and there are his murales concerning the rising of Cilento in 1828). It is possible to reach easily the archeological sites of Velia, Roccagloriosa and Paestum; the Carthusian Monastery of Padula, Teggiano (a medieval town well preserved), Pertosa (the grottos with stalagmites and stalagtites), the wwf oasis of Morigerati, a Sanctuary of the Lady on the Gelbison mountain. Trekking excursions to the mountains Bulgheria, Stella, Gelbison and Cervati. During summer Palinuro is a stage of the sea Boat to reach Capri and Naples.
