From May to October you can take part in guided tours of the sea caves or scuba dive from Capo Palinuro to Marina di Camerota.

Capo Palinuro is a characteristic limestone promontory that mostly juts out into the sea with some depressed areas that lap the surface of the sea. Its perimeter is delineated by imposing rocky walls that from heights that in some points exceed 200 meters above sea level continues below the surface of the sea for about 50 meters with stunning walls rich in life. Known since the epic deeds narrated in the Aeneid by Virgil, this coastal stretch that stretches into the southern Tyrrhenian Sea represents one of the natural jewels of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. A splendid coastal view thanks to the continuous succession of coves, caves and beaches of unique beauty, it hides faunistic treasures thanks to the persistence of an uncontaminated marine environment: characteristic blooms of red coral, yellow, green and red gorgonians, and again lobsters and crabs, groupers, dentex and red mullet.

The particular consistency of the rocky mass has favored the karst phenomenon and erosion, phenomena also accentuated by the presence of sulfurous waters and hydrothermal springs that have created an extremely diversified environment with a high number of submerged cavities: the 35 caves of Palinuro in fact represent one of the main centers of speleomarine interest in Europe. Among these wonders, the best known and also the most visited is the "Grotta Azzurra", 85 meters long and 90 meters wide, which is located at the height of Cala Guarracini and crosses the northern part of Palinuro. Characterized by a turquoise color load resulting from the refraction of sunlight filtering from an opening in depth and uniquely paints these rocky walls rich in alabaster flows and stalactite-stalagmitic columns. Another very well-known cave is the "D'Argento" that is located further south, at Cala Lanterna, whose walls reflect the color of the precious metal that the water takes on due to the mixing of sea water with dense sulfurous water. Among the others, let us also remember the "Grotta dei Monaci", so called for the numerous stalagmite formations that recall the likeness of a group of monks in prayer, the "Prehistoric Cave or of the Bones", whose fossil sediments testify to the frequentation of primitive men, the "Grotta del Sangue", so called for the intense red that ignites on its walls, and the "Grotta Sulfurea" where the hydrothermal phenomenon characteristic of the marine cavities of Palinuro becomes more evident and perceptible. In addition to the caves, Palinuro is also a great place to enjoy the beach, swim, snorkel, and dive. There are many different beaches to choose from, ranging from secluded coves to sandy stretches with amenities such as restaurants and bars. If you're looking for a place to stay in Palinuro, there are plenty of options to choose from, including hotels, apartments, and villas. You can also find camping grounds and bed and breakfasts in the area. From Palinuro, you can also easily explore other parts of the Cilento region. The Cilento is a beautiful coastal region with many villages, towns, and archaeological sites to visit.
