Cilento National Park: scenic walking trail with breathtaking views
Share on social media The Lovers' Path in Marina di Ascea
The trail is about 2 km long and starts from the cliff of the seaside resort in Punta del Telegrafo.
The "Lovers' Path" starts from the cliff of the seaside resort in Punta del Telegrafo. The wooden walkway that precedes the entrance is clearly visible from the road thanks to the sign that indicates the route. The entire stretch that reaches the Torre del Telegrafo is about 2 km long. It is suitable for everyone, taking the necessary precautions and avoiding the hottest hours of the day, especially in the summer. The first part of the stretch is uphill and shaded. Once you reach the top, you can take a break to enjoy the view of the Gulf of Velia. Next, there is a descent exposed to the sun that reaches a bridge that connects the first promontory to the second. Continuing, you reach the tower where there is another viewpoint from which you can see Capo Palinuro. Since the path is not a loop, you have to retrace the same route back, but when you reach the nearby cliff beach, you can cool off by diving into the clear waters of the sea. In fact, Ascea is a charming coastal destination that promises a complete experience. In addition to the renowned "Lovers' Path," visitors can immerse themselves in the crystal-clear waters of its golden beaches, sunbathe, and enjoy water sports. But the wonders of Ascea don't stop there. The town is also famous for its rich archaeological heritage, with the ancient ruins of the city of Velia offering an exciting journey into the past. Ascea offers a wide range of options for travelers. You can choose from bed and breakfasts, apartments, and villas.
