From the Gulf of Salerno to the Gulf of Policastro: the must-see beaches of Cilento.
The Cilento Coast is one of the jewels of southern Italy, characterized by its beautiful coastline that stretches for about 100 km. The beaches of Cilento are famous for their crystal-clear water and their fine golden sand. Many of them have been awarded the Blue Flag, an international recognition for the quality of services offered by seaside resorts. Among the most famous, the beach of Trentova in Agropoli offers a relaxing and family-friendly atmosphere, with many tourist facilities that guarantee a comfortable experience. The municipality of Pollica boasts some of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in the region. Among these, the renowned Acciaroli, with its 3 km of fine golden sand, bathed by crystal-clear waters. Here you can find numerous beach resorts that offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of all visitors. A short distance away are also the enchanting beaches of Pioppi, where the wild nature and the blue of the sea merge into a breathtaking landscape. In addition, the descents to the sea of "Fossa dell'Elice" and "Piani" in Casal Velino are a must for those who want to immerse themselves in a crystal-clear and unspoiled sea, away from the chaos of the most crowded beaches. Further south, the beach of Ascea is a perfect destination for nature lovers and relaxation. This stretch of coast offers an unspoiled natural environment, with beautiful golden sand that stretches for kilometers, surrounded by the typical Mediterranean vegetation of the area. The beach resorts are well-equipped and offer a wide range of services to make the holiday even more comfortable.
For those looking for a bit of adventure, Punta Telegrafo is a must-see: the numerous coves and hidden coves make this place perfect for exploring the coast in a completely immersed way in nature. If you are looking for a more wild and authentic sea experience, the beach of Cala Bianca, located south of Marina di Camerota, on the coast of Infreschi, is an ideal choice. In 2013 it was elected the most beautiful beach in Italy in the competition launched by Legambiente "La più bella sei tu". Surrounded by high cliffs and accessible only on foot or by boat, this beach offers an atmosphere of peace and tranquility surrounded by nature. There are no beach resorts here. It is reachable on foot through the Infreschi trail that starts from the Lentiscelle beach and runs along the entire coast; alternatively by sea through the numerous cooperatives that depart from the port of Marina di Camerota for the various coves south of Camerota. Just before Marina di Camerota, it is worth taking a boat trip along the coast of Palinuro. The trips usually depart from the port of the village and last about 3-4 hours. During the journey, you will be able to admire numerous coves and sea caves, such as the famous Blue Grotto, the Blood Grotto and the Bones Grotto. In addition, many tours include a stop at one of the many bays along the coast, such as the "Baia del Buon Dormire" and the Spiaggia della Molpa.
Going down further south, immediately after Marina di Camerota, is the "Costa della Masseta", located in the Infreschi marine protected area. Here you will find dream beaches, hidden coves with white pebbles and a rocky coast that will leave you speechless. You will discover the most famous beaches such as the beach of Marcellino, the beach of Resima, the beach of Gabbiani and the numerous enchanting caves to explore. To reach Costa della Masseta, you don't just need a car, you have to sail along the coast south of Scario. If you are an adventurer and want to test your skills, some Scario beaches can be reached via even very challenging trails starting from the Pianoro di Ciolandrea in San Giovanni a Piro.
The Cilento Coast is an authentic treasure of Southern Italy, a destination that attracts visitors for the beauty of its coastline, the clarity of its waters, and the variety of its beaches. From beaches awarded the Blue Flag to hidden coves among the rocks, the Cilento offers a unique seaside experience. Along the coast, it is possible to book a vacation in rented houses, bed and breakfasts, and other types of accommodation to fully enjoy the beauties of this region.

The Cilento Coast: a guide to the best beaches: useful information
The best time to visit the beaches of Cilento is from May to September, when the temperatures are mild and the climate is dry and sunny. However, the beaches can be very crowded during the summer months, so if you prefer to avoid the crowds, I recommend planning your visit in the months of May, June, or September. In addition, it is important to know that some beaches are unspoiled and not equipped, so it is best to bring everything you need for your stay, such as food, water, and sunscreen. Beach resorts offer rental services for equipment such as umbrellas and deck chairs. I recommend exploring the less well-known beaches and hidden coves for a more authentic and less touristy experience. Also, make sure to respect the natural environment and do not leave any trash on the beach.
