A nature trail in Pioppi recently restored by Legambiente volunteers. It seems that the name of the trail comes from a type of ivy that grows along the side of the spring, which resembles clusters of black grapes when it withers. The trail, which is about 3 km long, has its access point in the Porto del Fico area and ends near an enchanting waterfall. If you wish, you can also start the walk from a secondary access point located (about 1 km from the beginning of the route), taking one of the roads located near an ancient bridge visible just after the inhabited center of Pioppi. The final stretch of 2 km is undoubtedly the most fascinating part of the trail: by walking along a dirt road that winds along the banks of the Mortella stream, you will find yourself completely immersed in the Mediterranean scrubland until you reach what was once called the Devil's Well. A cool and green environment with water gushing from the top of the rock, forming a small spring of water on the dirt floor. The return route is the same as the one taken on the way there. Visitors can explore the local flora and fauna and discover places of great charm. Along the way, you can admire the variety of Mediterranean plants that populate the area, including the typical Mediterranean scrubland with aromatic shrubs, centuries-old olive trees and the characteristic wild vines.
