The wild beauty of Agnone Cilento and the "Ripe Rosse" promontory in southern Italy
Agnone Cilento is a small fishing village located halfway between Castellabate and Acciaroli. It is the largest hamlet in the municipality of Montecorice. Nestled between the sea, the Pistacchio hill, and the mouth of the Rio Lapis, it is a seaside resort that receives the Blue Flag of the Fee every year, an international organization that works for sustainable development through environmental education. The promenade of Agnone is a true oasis of tranquility, where traffic is prohibited and where you can find shady areas, walls to sit on, and easy access to the sea.
The beach, located in front of the main square of the village, extends for about 450 meters, offering an enchanting combination of sand and pebbles. This stretch of coast is characterized by its natural beauty, with some areas of free beach and others equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds. In the nearby port of San Nicola a Mare, fishing is practiced and some traditions are still present, such as the processing and preservation, under oil and under salt, of tuna and anchovies, and the processing of nets. Continuing along the coast, immediately after San Nicola a Mare, is the promontory "Ripe Rosse", a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its intact Aleppo pine forest.
